New party elects officers, ratifies bylaws and platform.

CPW Members

January 13, 2025 (SEATTLE), Cascade Party of Washington (CPW) held its organizing convention on Saturday, January 11 at the Sorrento Hotel in Seattle.

The new CPW is being positioned politically as centrist / moderate. Highlights of its platform include support of: funding public safety and diversion programs such as drug courts and crisis counseling. The party also stated how it recognizes the role of markets and trade’s role in our prosperity, while acknowledging government’s role in cultivating a fair and efficient economy. Government has an obligation to find solutions to poverty, homelessness and protect its citizens.

Last week, Seattle City Councilmember Tammy Morales announced that she was stepping down from her elected position. In her resignation letter, a sour Morales painted the council majority as bullies assaulting democratic norms.
